Slice + Bake Heart Cookies


Recipe:

2 cups flour
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup icing sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup sprinkles
Cream butter, sugar, vanilla in a bowl. Add flour and salt. Mix with a hand mixer until dough becomes ragged, crumbly. Add in sprinkles.
Pour dough onto a sheet of waxed paper. Form/roll into a log. Wrap log in waxed paper and form (through the paper) into a triangular shape. Using a ruler, create a crease - or "rut" in the top of the triangular log. Round out the edges on either side of the log - this will be the top of the heart.
Place formed log in freezer for 20 mins.
Slice about 1/2 cm thick.
Bake at 350 for 12-15 mins or until before edges turn light brown.
If the dough is too dry you can add a bit of milk. It should be a bit crumbly - but hold together when packed into a roll.
