Heart Rings

Heart Rings

You will need:

  • Milk top (plastic pull tab from larger milk carton)
  • Assorted pink and red tissue, paper, ribbon, scrap fabric and other materials)
  • Wax Paper
  • Bowl, water
  • Glue
  • Glitter Glue
  • Glue Gun
  1. In a bowl, add 1 cup or so of warm water. Cut up scraps of tissue, paper and above materials into tiny pieces - the tinier the better! Let soak for a few mins (5 or so).
  2. Pull apart any larger pieces, snip with scissors if need be. All pieces should be small like confetti.
  3. Drain the water and scoop out the confetti mush. Divide into piles 1" x 1" on a piece of wax paper. Add a generous amount of white glue to each small pile and massage in. Press piles as flat as possible - try to keep the flattened pile as even in thickness as possible.
  4. Fold the wax paper over the piles and press to compress the piles even more.
  5. Open wax paper and let dry about 3/4 - when glue is still a bit soft and you can still bend the pile.
  6. Cut heart shapes out of compressed confetti, add a layer of glitter glue for extra dazzle. We used magenta. Let dry completely.
  7. Hot glue gun hearts onto milk tops. Tip: if the glue doesn't properly adhere to plastic milk top, wrap in masking tape and then glue heart shape to taped area on milk top.

What a gorgie piece of jewelry for that special someone.
